FindSignal/Clinic growth guides

A practical website checklist for aesthetic clinics in Scotland.

A strong clinic website does four jobs in sequence: helps the right person find you, understand the treatment, trust the practitioner and take the next step. Use this checklist to spot friction before spending more on advertising.

The 12-point clinic website check

  • State your main treatments and location clearly in the first screen.
  • Give each priority treatment a useful page of its own.
  • Use the language patients use—not only clinical terminology.
  • Explain who performs treatments and show relevant qualifications.
  • Place reviews and reassurance beside enquiry or booking actions.
  • Make prices, starting prices or consultation expectations easy to find.
  • Explain what happens after someone clicks Book or Enquire.
  • Check every phone number, email address and booking link for consistency.
  • Use one clear primary action on each treatment page.
  • Make opening hours, address and areas served consistent across the site.
  • Test the complete booking journey on a mobile phone.
  • Remove unfinished text, old dates, spelling errors and placeholder content.

Start with clarity, not design

A visitor should be able to answer three questions within seconds: what you offer, where you offer it and what they should do next. A beautiful homepage can still lose enquiries when the headline is vague, the location is buried or every button competes for attention.

A useful first-screen formula

Lead with your most commercially important service category, the area you genuinely serve and one specific action. For example: “Practitioner-led skin treatments in Glasgow — book a consultation.” Keep broader brand language below this essential information.

Make treatment pages genuinely helpful

A thin list of treatments gives neither prospective patients nor search engines enough context. A useful treatment page should explain who it is suitable for, likely questions, practitioner approach, price expectations, location, evidence and the next step. Avoid copying manufacturer text used by dozens of other clinics.

Important distinctionThis improves local-search readiness; it does not guarantee rankings. Live visibility depends on competition, reputation, technical health, Google Business Profile signals and other evidence.

Put trust where decisions happen

Qualifications, reviews and safety information are most valuable beside the point of hesitation. If all your proof sits on an About page, treatment-page visitors may never see it. Match each reassurance signal to the concern it answers and keep medical claims accurate and supportable.

Walk through the booking journey yourself

Test from a mobile phone using no prior knowledge of the clinic. Can you understand the consultation, price expectation and next step before leaving the website for a booking system? Check that the selected treatment survives the hand-off and that confirmation messages explain what happens next.
